StoryWalks® combine the joy of reading with the benefits of outdoor activity, offering an engaging way to enjoy a story while exploring the community.
StoryWalks® encourage literacy, physical activity, and community connection in a fun and accessible way. Partnering with organizations in Richland County to offer these unique learning and entertainment opportunities is another way the Library can support the mission of ensuring a vibrant quality of life for our community.
A StoryWalk® is an innovative way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors together. The community can enjoy the experience by walking and viewing all of the numbered stands in consecutive order. The stories will change seasonally, so visit regularly!
StoryWalk® was originally created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalks® can now be found in all 50 states of the U.S. and in 13 other countries.
