Looking for a Good Scare?

And why wouldn’t you be, Bits and Bramblers? After all, it is Halloween, right? And if you don’t get a little scared and eat a bunch of candy, well then…what’s the point?

Luckily, your library can help you there. We have tons of books, TV shows, and movies that will make your heart pound and send shivers down your spine. In a good way, obviously.

Like Such Wicked Intent. Remember way back in June when I told you that you should read This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel? Well, I’m just going to assume you’ve read it, so you know that it’s a prequel to the Mary Shelley classic, Frankenstein. And you know we meet a young Victor Frankenstein, and see him do some pretty…er..grim things to save the life of his twin brother, Konrad. And you know the book ended on a liiiiiitle bit of a cliffhanger.

Well, the new sequel, Such Wicked Intent picks up right where we left off, and it might be the perfect book to read this Halloween. It’s the kind of book you can get lost in–the kind of book that when someone innocently asks you a question, you end up jumping and maybe half-screaming. Probably. I wouldn’t know. That didn’t happen to me last week. Nope, that didn’t happen at all.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, grab some candy, turn on the lights, and check out Such Wicked Intent…and have a SAFE AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN, BITS AND BRAMBLERS!
