Wow…Ohio has really gotten around this summer, hasn’t he? Our unofficial mascot has been alllllllll over Richland County, from way up in Plymouth to over in Madison.
And we just got another postcard from him in the mail!
Wherever it is, it looks like he’s having fun…any clue where he could be (or when he’s coming home?!)

…Your time is running out, Bits and Bramblers. You only have a few short days to finish reading 1000 pages for our Teen Summer Library Program, and win fabulous prizes, like a Target Gift Card.
But while time is running out, you’re not out of time. In fact, you still have a few days to read and turn your slips in at your faaaaaavorite library location. You can do it, Bits and Bramblers. I believe in you.
I also believe that if you’re…let’s say…276 pages short, you should definitely pick up Sean Griswold’s Head. Maybe I should rephrase that, ’cause it sounded kind of…weird. You should definitely read Sean Griswold’s Head. There. That’s better. You know what? Just watch the book trailer…

Now that you’ve watched that…why are you still here? You want to win fabulous prizes just for reading, right? Then CHECK OUTSEAN GRISWOLD’S HEAD. Okay, that was weird again. Let’s try one more time…READ SEAN GRISWOLD’S HEAD NOW!
…Wow. The mail is running late again, Bits and Bramblers. And it’s not even a holiday this time. That’s weird.
Aaaaaaaaaaanyway, we got another postcard from our unofficial mascot, Ohio the Orangutan! He’s still off on an extended vacation, but he’s been keeping in touch by sending us postcards.
We’re getting down to the wire, Bits and Bramblers! You have exactly…ten days, eight hours, and thirty-nine minutes to finishing reading your 1000 pages for the Teen Summer Reading Program (actually it’s less than that, really—the Teen Zone Countdown should help you figure out the exact amount of time.)
Seriously, though…you’d better get moving if you want to win fabulous prizes, like a Target Gift Card. And remember, you’ll be automatically entered in our Grand Prize Drawing to win an iPod Shuffle. But if you’re…oh, let’s say 261 pages short, head to your faaaavorite library, grab a copy of Born to Rock by Gordon Korman, and READ IT NOW. But first, check out this book trailer…

…Okay, so NOW you can head to your faaaaaaavorite library, grab a copy of Born to Rock, and READ IT NOW! Get moving Bits and Bramblers…the clock is ticking!
Ahhhhhh…summer is great, isn’t it Bits and Bramblers? By now you’ve finished reading your 1000 pages in our Teen Summer Library Program, claimed by your prizes and—what’s that, Bits and Bramblers? Some of you aren’t done reading your 1000 pages? Some of you haven’t even registered for the program?!
…It’s okay. I swear, it is. It’s still possible to register for the program at your faaaaaavorite M/RCPL location. And you have until July 30th to read 1000 pages—which might seem like a lot, but it’s also totally doable.
In fact, I can help you knock 374 pages off that total, because you should totally read The Truth About Forever, by Sarah Dessen, RIGHT NOW. Check out our book trailer…

Okay, Bits and Bramblers…at this point, I’m just going to assume that you’re all registered for our Teen Summer Library Program, and that you’re nearly done reading 1000 pages, and that you’re keeping your fingers crossed that when your name is entered in our grand prize drawing, that you’ll be the lucky winner of a brand new shiny iPod Shuffle.
‘Cause after all…why wouldn’t you be?
But if you still need some pages, I can help you out…I can help you out 260 times, to be exact. Because that’s the exact number of pages in Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares, by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan (who, if you’ll remember, are the same people that brought you Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, which is not only a made-of-awesome book, it’s a made-of-awesome movie, too.) And know what else is kind of fun? Reading a book about Chrstimastime in New York when it’s 90 degrees outside. Seriously.
So what are you waiting for, Bits and Bramblers? Read your way to fabulous prizes by READING DASH & LILY’S BOOK OF DARES TODAY!!!!
