But you can vote for yourself by heading to the YA Fantasy Showdown. The site pairs up your favorite YA Fantasy characters—like Katsa from Graceling, and Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter Series—and you vote on which one of them you think would win in a fight. The winners of each bracket go on to face each other, until we’re down to the final pair—and that fight will determine the winner.
They even make predictions on how they think each round would go, and who would come out on top (I’ll warn you, though…their take on the Ai Ling/Jace matchup isn’t pretty.)
…No seriously, it’s Lazy Day. It’s an actual thing. So stop whatever it is you’re doing (other than reading this, obviously,) and be lazy.
Need some help? That should be easy enough. I don’t want to brag or anything, Bits and Bramblers, but I’m pretty good at being lazy. You could always daydream. Or take a nap. Or sit outside and just look at the trees until you realize it’s super hot and humid, and then you could go inside and keep daydreaming and/or napping. That’s pretty lazy.
You could always play on the internet, that’s a good one. I mean…what’s lazier–and more fun–than watching YouTube videos for hours on end? While eating snacks. Snacks are important.
And speaking of YouTube videos, I’m celebrating Lazy Day by watching all the videos from Arcade Fire’s concert at Madison Square Garden last week. Is it still lazy if I’m having fun and singing along? I’m going to say yes…so feel free to watch and sing-along, Lazypants!
There were lots of green slips being stuffed into the Teen Boxes right up until the last minute on Saturday, which was awesome. And now lots of you are picking up your Target gift cards, and eagerly awaiting our Grand Prize Drawing to see who will win the iPod.
And we really, really appreciate it.
A big thanks to everyone who registered and completed the program, everyone who played games, and everyone who attended our programs and made cool Bleach T-Shirts and Washer Necklaces. We hope you had as much fun as we did…and we’ll start planning next year’s Summer Library Program ASAP!
