Renewing Materials

Books and audio materials may be renewed in person or by phone or online. Renewals are limited to two per item,

* as long as there are no reserves on the item.

+ How-to magazines check out for
+ 28 days with no loan limit.

Renewals are not permitted on 3-day DVDs, Speed Readers, items on hold or ILL items.

To renew by phone, call the Main Library at 419.521.3142. Use the regular phone number for your local library to renew materials at a branch location.

To renew online, you will need a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You can register for a PIN by phone or in person at any Library location.

Go to www.mrcpl.org link, then choose the My Account link. When the iPac (our name for the electronic catalog loads, click on My Account. You will be asked for you Library card number and PIN number. Enter those in the appropriate boxes. When you are logged in, click on Items Out. Check the box next to the items you wish to renew, then click on the Renew button at the top or bottom of the screen. If the items you choose cannot be renewed, you will get a message telling you that.

You will need your library card number to renew by any method.

Reserves / Holds

Holds/reserves may be placed on all library materials except:

3-day DVDs
Periodicals
Reference materials
Sherman room collection
Speed Reader
Holds may be placed in person or online.

Overdue Fines

  • There is a charge of 20 ¢ per day per item for overdue books, magazines and audio materials.
  • Videocassettes and DVDs are charged a dollar ($1.25)
    per day-per item fine.
  • Overdue ILL materials carry a fine of $1.00 per day, per item.

Returning Materials

Library materials may be returned to any M/RCPL location, regardless of where they were borrowed. Drop boxes are available at all locations.

Liability for Lost or Damaged Items, Lost Library Card

Failure to return library materials or settle fines may result in the loss of borrowing privileges. Be careful of your library card and who you allow to use it. You are liable for charges to your card, just like a credit card. Report its loss or theft immediately.
